Interest in the important remains at Dauntsey Lock prompted contact with one of the present owners, Mr.Gordon Barnes, in l979. A five year agreement was signed, enabling survey and towpath clearance work to be carried out. The Wharf House was completely surveyed, with photography and measured drawings. This report from 1985 documents the survey and restoration opportunity.
